The topic of the activity on „Public ownership of critical infrastructures: water, electricity, oil, gas, roads, hospitals, etc.“ is important because people should have their basic needs satisfied without a dependency on profit of corporations. It is important because of economic and social justice and security and also because of ecological reasons: sustainable development of the environment cannot be a profit driven project. Public ownership of critical infrastructure should be based on participatory democracy. A participation of citizens in decision-making on public ownership will make possible to help satisfying basic needs of citizens and contribute to social and economic justice and security.
