    Résumé:

On the 10th of October 2021, in Iraq will be held anticipated Federal Elections. A crucial moment for Iraq's political and social history, the convening of the elections follows the huge protests crossing Iraq since 2019, with thousands of Iraqi activists calling for the end of corruption, sectarianism, foreign inference, and a real strong participated democracy in Iraq.
Recalling the frauds detected in the past 2018, Iraqi civil society (ICS) is mobilizing to undertake initiatives for monitoring the whole election process, to ensure the fairness and transparency of the political and legal practices, and to do this, it will need international and institutional support. For this reason, the Iraqi Civil Society Solidarity Initiative (ICSSI) is activating to provide coordination and international support, also by building an international delegation to be sent in Iraq to support the civil society during the elections crucial moments.
In this event, with the participation of two of our main civil society partners working on this process, Tammuz and Tawasoul organizations, we will explain why these elections are important, what are the main concerns, and how international civil society can bring support through active solidarity.
