What is possible when our connections prioritize our safety, consent, and political resistance? What could we build together by developing alternatives to corporate and government control of the Internet?

Another world is possible, and another internet is possible. This 90 minute session will bring together a diverse group of speakers from different regions to explore how alternative infrastructure for communications is developing within our movements, and discuss collective action to build the internet that we need.

The panel will be organised in two segments: we will begin our discussion with reflections on the development of autonomous, community-owned and operated infrastructure, and hear from activist technologists about their experiences. Our discussion will then explore specific priorities among our movements, and visions for the future internet that we need.

Each speaker will have approximately 5 minutes for their interventions. We invite all participants to contribute to the discussion through the chat, and we will aim to have an open microphone for reflections in the final 10-15 minutes of the session.
